Meet the Trainer
Heather Turner
Heather has been destined for dog training since birth and has used every new experience to improve her skills. As the daughter of a police K9 handler and trainer, she has had the unique opportunity to work with him through many stages of his training career. She’s been there for countless trips to the Police K9 training fields and has cleaned more kennels and dog boxes then we will ever be able to count. Spending all her childhood around professional working dogs cultivated an impressive dog handling instinct.
When her parents started their own dog training company in New Jersey, Heather was preparing to graduate high school and over the next 5 years worked as an apprentice. During that time, she was able to cultivate her understanding of various products and enhance her already extensive knowledge while assisting with 500+ dogs. She graduated college with a double major in Business Management and Marketing and immediately started working in corporate sales. Over the next 10 years she continued to pursue her career goals, moved from New Jersey to Georgia, and then Maryland, married, and had 2 beautiful daughters.
In 2020 a unique opportunity presented itself for Heather to start working full time as a trainer for At Home Dog Training (www.glennsdogtraining.com)
in New Jersey through the addition of virtual appointments! This service was invaluable for those owners needing advice in a world where in person training wasn’t possible. In the 18 months she worked for At Home Dog Training, Heather worked with over 300 clients to help them achieve their training goals.
After training close to 1,000 dogs and becoming a certified dog trainer, Heather is excited to bring her services to South Florida through Home Solutions Dog Training.
